Survey of Late Period Music for the Guitar, Lute and Vihuela
This class is a brief survey of music and composers for the renaissance guitar, lute and vihuela. I concentrate on the guitar composers in this class, as an extension of my renaissance guitar research. I taught this class at Seven Hills Skirmishes in 2013, and earlier at a Day of Classes in Seven Hills/Black Diamond in 2012. In this class, I also contrast compositional styles between the french and spanish guitarists of the mid-1500s, and discuss the various compositional forms of the music surveyed.
