I wrote this song for Queen Adelhait near the end of my tenure as Royal Bard of Atlantia.  I first performed the song for Her at Atlantian Twelfth Night in 2016 (the day I stepped down as Royal Bard).  After the stories trickled in from Gulf Wars 2016 ("Gulfnado") I revised a phrase in the second verse to commemorate the event ("when storm winds blow, She is our shelter").  I wanted to continue my tradition of writing period-style guitar/vihuela pieces for Atlantian Queens, so just before the end of Christoph and Adelhait's reign, I used the melody from Fairest Jewel of Atlantia as the basis for my renaissance guitar piece, Queen Adelhait's Pavan.
